CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Kundalini Yoga

The focus of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® is on one’s personal experience and awareness through the practice of kriya and naad. We awaken the kundalini in order to be able to call upon the full potential of the nervous and glandular systems and to balance the subtle system of chakras and meridians within the body. “Kriya” is an orchestrated pattern of movements, sound, pranayam, mudras, concentration and meditation that automatically guide the energies of the body and the mind to a specific result or change of consciousness.

Beginner's

This beginner's class focuses on the fundamentals of yoga including correct breath and posture. This is also a great class for more advanced yogis to refine their practice by getting back to the basics. All levels are strongly encouraged to take this class as a starting point to yoga or a weekly refresher.

Vinyasa - Level 1/2

Vinyasa is a method of yoga in which movements form a flowing sequence in coordination with the breath. This is a powerful practice in which you will explore postures and fundamental principles of vinyasa yoga. Come sweat, breathe and flow to some good tunes. If anything, come for the savasana at the end.

Vinyasa - Level 2/3

While everyone is encouraged to push their limits, this vinyasa flow class is recommended for yogi's with a strong and consistent practice. This advanced class takes the fundamentals of "Vinyasa 1/2" to the next level, linking movements to breath in one continuous flow with little to no break in between. This practice makes for a great workout.

Slow Flow

Slow Flow is a versatile class. It provides a slower approach to flow yoga for beginners but is also a great way for experienced yogis and yoginis to decompress. With an emphasis on de-stressing, diminishing anxiety, and learning to be present and self aware, this class incorporates meditation and uses the breath to flow through poses. All levels are welcome!

Yoga Body

A super fun and zesty approach to vinyasa flow. This is the fitness lovers guide to yoga. In addition to traditional vinyasa poses, this class throws in some dynamic movements to sculpt your body and build your core strength. Come sweat, smile, and breathe to good tunes and positive vibes. Don't worry, there is still a final relaxation at the end. All levels are welcome!

Yin Yoga

Hatha Yoga

Yin Yoga is a meditative calming practice where poses are held for 3 to 5 minutes. All poses are practiced on the floor making it suitable for all levels. The muscles are relaxed focusing the stress of the pose on the connective tissue of the joints to increase their health and mobility. Incorporating focused breathing with the longer holds allows for the body and mind to slow down and become still. In this class we do several gentle yang poses to warm-up the body and get the circulation to flow adding more chi to our Yin practice. We end the class with a short meditation.

Hatha is a branch of yoga, which utilizes physical movement (asanas) and breath (pranayama) to build better control of our thoughts. As part of this, we strive to balance the seeminlgy dualistic aspects of body and mind, with the understanding that these polarities are a natural part of life and are always in fluctuation. In this awareness, we strive to move toward greater harmony.
